Membership Policies

CrossFit Cypher Membership Agreement

As a Member of CrossFit Cypher, I, the undersigned, hereby agree to uphold and be legally bound by the following rules and policies:

Membership Payment Policy

Monthly Membership dues are automatically recurring and paid automatically on the 1st day of each month.

New Monthly Memberships are prorated for the 1st partial month based on the start date, such that the first automatic renewal starts on the 1st of the next month. Regular monthly dues automatically apply thereafter with payments made the 1st day of each month.

Monthly Membership dues are paid by automatic electronic payment (credit card, debit card, or automatic checking account draft).

Appointment-based Membership dues (Fundamentals and/or Personal Training appointments) are paid in advance of each session at the individual session rate, or in advance via a package of sessions. These packages do not automatically renew, unless otherwise noted.

We currently accept: ACH/EFT (Bank Transfer), Visa, Mastercard, and Discover.

We do not accept Cash or Check payments for Monthly Memberships.

Membership Hold Policy

We do not allow membership holds for any/all memberships.

If you are only a Monthly Membership and have a planned absence in an upcoming month, you may downgrade in advance to a lower per month attendance membership (12X/month or 16X/month) in accordance with our Change and Cancellation Policies described below. All our fixed classes/month memberships can be used at any time during a month. For example, if you have a 2-week vacation planned during the last two weeks of the month, you could simply use up all 12 or 16 of your classes during the first two weeks of the month.

There are absolutely no refunds for Monthly Memberships.

Membership Expiration

All Monthly Memberships are valid only for the calendar month they fall within. There are no extensions, holds, or rollovers for unused sessions.

All Appointment-based packages (Fundamentals and/or Personal Training) have expiration dates proportional to their respective package size. It is the client’s responsibility to book and utilize all their sessions before the expiration date. There are no extensions, holds, or rollovers for unused sessions.

Monthly Membership Changes and/or Cancellations Policy

Would you like to Upgrade or Downgrade your upcoming monthly renewal, or set a restart date after a short break? No problem!

Submission of our Change Request Form (http://crossfitcypher.com/changes) will serve as your written change notice, as is required.

Need to take a longer break?

Submission of our Cancellation Request Form (http://crossfitcypher.com/cancellations) will serve as your written cancellation notice, as is required. Your membership will be cancelled for the following month and indefinitely thereafter unless other arrangements are made.

Submission of either one of these forms must be done by 8PM PST on the 20th day of the month prior to ensure an effective Change or Cancellation Request for the upcoming month’s membership. Otherwise the request will automatically be deferred to the month thereafter. Verbal, e-mail, or other forms of communication of Member’s intent to cancel will not suffice.

Upon rejoining CrossFit Cypher after a Cancellation, your membership will be updated to the current rate for new members (no maintenance of “grandfathered” rates for lapsed memberships). There are absolutely no refunds for Monthly Memberships.

Kids Policy

For your kids’ safety, during regular business hours (class times and open gym) we cannot permit any child under the age of 18 in the gym who is not enrolled in and attending a specific Cypher Kids class. This includes bringing your well-behaved kid(s) to sit on the couch while you get a workout in, in our office, or outside our front door. We also will not permit spouses, daycare providers, or other parties to watch your child inside the gym while you work out.

Missed/Declined Payment Policy

If a payment is missed or declined, CrossFit Cypher reserves the right to re-submit the payment via any/all credit or debit account info we have on file (the system only stores the last 4 digits) each day until the payment is successful. Cards should be kept up to date on your member profile. A $20 late/declined payment fee may be charged if a payment is past due more than one week.

If we are unable to successfully re-run the payment, CrossFit Cypher will attempt to contact the client to resolve any technical issues. If we are unable to resolve it and/or we do not receive a response within one week, CrossFit Cypher reserves the right to terminate the membership and prohibit any attempts to renew at a future date until all past due payments are resolved.

Payments Made In Error Policy

If you believe you were incorrectly charged for a membership, you have 72 hours (3 days) to contact us to request an adjustment or refund. It may take several days to process this, so we appreciate your patience.

Refund Policy

All purchases are final, and there are absolutely no refunds for any/all Cypher Memberships, including Monthly Memberships, Personal Training Packages, Drop-ins, Nutrition Packages, Events, Challenges, etc.

However, in the case of a documented medical diagnosis by a licensed practitioner (Doctor’s Note), CrossFit Cypher reserves the right to, at its sole discretion, offer a transference of the partial value of an unused membership to a future purchase at CrossFit Cypher. This will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Damages Policy

Members shall pay for any damages to CrossFit Cypher property which results from the willful or negligent conduct of member, member’s guest or dependent children.

The Golden Rule Policy

The Golden Rule or law of reciprocity is the principle of treating others as one would wish to be treated. It is a maxim of altruism seen in many human religions and human cultures. The maxim may appear as either a positive or negative injunction governing conduct:

  1. One should treat others as one would like others to treat oneself (positive or directive form).
  2. One should not treat others in ways that one would not like to be treated (negative or prohibitive form).
  3. What you wish upon others, you wish upon yourself (empathic or responsive form).

The Golden Rule differs from the maxim of reciprocity captured in do ut des—”I give so that you will give in return”—and is rather a unilateral moral commitment to the well-being of the other without the expectation of anything in return.

CrossFit Cypher strives to provide a positive and encouraging environment and culture for our clients, staff members, and their families. Anyone that is disruptive or negatively influences this environment, or attempts to undermine, subvert, troll, or take advantage of our policies, staff, other members, or general good will is subject to having their membership permanently revoked. This is at the sole discretion of CrossFit Cypher Management.

Termination Policy

Members who do not observe CrossFit Cypher rules and regulations or who abuse equipment in any fashion will be asked to leave. The management reserves the right to terminate membership to anyone who refuses to observe any of CrossFit Cypher’s rules or regulations. Not all rules and regulations are listed in this agreement. CrossFit Cypher reserves the rights to add, change or remove rules, conditions of membership, opening and closing hours, and all services and facilities offered by CrossFit Cypher.
