What is CrossFit Kids?
CrossFit Kids is a strength and conditioning program that is specifically designed for kids and teens, and helps them develop a life long love of fitness. In a group setting, kids participate in fun and engaging workouts that deliver measurable results and prepare them to be well rounded athletes. The movements involved in CrossFit kids include all the things kids do when they play, pull, push, run, throw, climb, lift and jump.
The CrossFit Kids program focuses on providing an exciting and interactive environment that shows children that being strong and fit is fun!
It is like the regular adult classes in that we learn and develop the same functional movements/skills and have fun while doing it, but it has a much more long-term developmental arc, with kids learning the movements very gradually and without significant intensity/load for a long time, and a greater emphasis on play to keep things interesting. CrossFit Kids is not simply a scaled down version of CrossFit, it is entirely and absolutely CrossFit geared toward kids and their specific developmental needs.
